If we Google the word nutrition, we will find more than 170,000,000 links regarding this subject. If we add key words like “the importance of”…the numbers drop to 84,100,000. Yet if we change that Google search to include the words “lack of nutrition”, number three on the list will alarm you as it speaks of how lack of nutrition creates generations of criminals…WOW…and number 4 on the list speaks of The Effects Of Poor Nutrition & Lack Of Exercise. Poor diets and lack of exercise are second only to smoking when it comes to preventable causes of death in the United States, according to the World Health Organization.

As successful trophy hunters, many of us understand that there are two key factors [outside of sound game management] that are essential to producing quality trophy animals: Strong genetic gene pools located in a regions rich in nutrition. If the understanding of genetics and nutrients is so vital to our success, why then do so many people look past the importance off applying nutrition in our personal daily lives?

As an outdoor enthusiast, nutrition and personal wellness are quintessential to my success. properly outfitted, my body’s current state of wellness will provide me with the ability to endure whatever elements i am faced with during the hunt, allowing me to focus on success and the overall outcome of the mission. While we all may have a different view of success in the field, i think we would all agree that having the energy to achieve our goals in this process is a huge benefit.

As a personal trainer I have seen the positive effects that a quality diet and exercise program can bring into the lives of these people as they learn to apply some basic principals that will help them as they work towards living a healthier life style.
